People are consistently suprised that for such a small town, Iowa City packs a lot in, whatever your thing is: culture, academics, binge drinking. When it comes to electronic music things are no different. There's a bustling underground scene going on, and what better way to put it on everyone's radar than a couple of great shows featuring some local flavor?
This week's Yacht Club party features a couple of cats operating out of Fairfield, Iowa going by the name Porno Galactica. Swing by their myspace and tell me this show won't be transcendental.

They'll be backed up by one of our favorite Iowa City Djs, Mr Steve Blank. A fan of the Baltimore club scene, Mr Blank has perfected his technique to work pretty much any indie favorite into an ass-shakin' anthem, having opened for Tittsworth himself and generally killing it around town.
